Jason Mastoris

Co-Founder

Jason co-founded Panthera BioSolutions together with Hardik Patel in October 2021. He has 18+ years of experience in clinical research, e-clinical technology, supply chain management and manufacturing operations within the pharmaceutical industry.

Following his graduation from Princeton University, Jason started his career at Pennsylvania Hematology Oncology Associates, working on retrospective clinical studies and co-authoring publications in the areas of oncology, hematology and bloodless medicine. During that time, he observed clinical trials at the practice and became intrigued by the growing use of technology to electronically capture patient data, maintain randomization integrity and automate the supply chain. He eventually joined several technology firms that provided these e-clinical solutions (IRT-Interactive Response Technology and EDC-Electronic Data Capture) to pharmaceutical and biotech companies, serving as a project and account manager.

In 2010, Jason joined the Life Science Pharma R&D practice of Accenture, where he managed a variety of projects, including the improvement of existing operating models and processes, implementation of new technology systems and several post-merger integration initiatives. In addition, he introduced the IRT capability and oversaw the sale and implementation of it to several clients, including Alcon.

In 2012, Jason relocated from New Jersey to Texas to join Alcon / Novartis, where he managed the global IRT function, pioneered the use of centralized IRT management and led the implementation of an internally managed IRT system, raising the utilization percentage to near 100%, while creating cost savings of $1M+ annually. He assumed the role of Head, Clinical Supplies Management less than a year later, leading all aspects of the global clinical supply chain (project management, secondary packaging/labeling, clinical distribution, returns/reconciliation and IRT). Jason’s teams made clinical supplies available within a very short timeframe compared to industry benchmarks resulting in the acceleration of several pivotal clinical trials and extension studies.

Jason moved over to the Novartis Pilot Facility in 2018 as Clinical Operations Director. In this role, he wore multiple hats over the next three years, creating the Planning / Portfolio Management team and managing the Production and Technical Project Management functions. Jason played a major role in defining the strategy / operating model and creating manufacturing governance for the Aseptic Center of Excellence.

Leveraging key learnings from his prior experiences, Jason has a vision of building an organization that is capable of providing high quality and innovative solutions to address unmet needs, while demonstrating agility, maintaining a commitment to manufacturing integrity and modeling a culture of responsibility. Additionally, Jason is passionate about Panthera’s participation in workforce development initiatives, where it will serve as a hands-on GMP training facility, providing students with foundational skills and exposure to different roles / disciplines. His goal is for these students to be adequately prepared to enter and have sustainable career paths within the pharmaceutical industry.

In his free time, Jason enjoys spending time with his family and 2 canines along with traveling the world.
