Philip Martin

Facility/Maintenance Lead

Philip Martin has been serving as the Facility and Maintenance Lead at PBS since November 2023. He began his career in aircraft maintenance in 2000, working out of Dallas Love Field. While in the industry, he worked on everything from small general aviation aircraft to large wide-bodied commercial aircraft. Here he found strengths in advanced troubleshooting and electrical systems.

His aviation career took him to New England in 2004, working in the fast-paced flight line maintenance field. He discovered that he could use these skills to expand into a new career in the biotechnology industry. Philip joined Millipore Corporation as a Service Engineer, focusing on biomonitoring product support. While operating out of the North American repair center, he was able to introduce a stronger field service offering to Millipore’s customer base. After 9 years as a Service Engineer, Philip transferred positions within the organization to become a Validation Engineer. This field-based position supported all of the USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Philip greatly enjoyed installing, qualifying, and training new users on the equipment he had been maintaining for so many years.

In 2018, he decided to take a position at Novartis Fort Worth as the maintenance technician at the Aseptic Pilot Plant. This position offered a new experience in maintenance of pharmaceutical R&D and manufacturing equipment, utilities, systems and processes. Philip later joined Nicol Scales and Measurement in Fort Worth, where he continued to maintain Novartis equipment and expand his capabilities into the area of metrology. He soon became a subject matter expert on the calibration of a variety of different lab and manufacturing equipment and systems.

Now at PBS, Philip is excited to bring his diverse career experiences to the team. While ensuring the facility and all equipment are operating smoothly, he is also excited to pass on the knowledge he has acquired to an upcoming generation of pharmaceutical employees as part of their hands-on training programs.

In his free time, Philip enjoys spending time with his family, participating in outdoor activities including camping, hiking, biking, fishing, and kayaking.
